Glow stone and quartz - Where do new players get it now (for minions) (2024)

Loving the new island - even tho at level 25 I’m nowhere near skilled enough to play on there yet… (Ironman profile not main)

Just wondering where players go for glowstone and quartz now since players under lvl 24 cannot get on the new “nether” island.

Sorry if this has already been mentioned. I’ve had a quick read through but there are so many new posts to go through.

You can buy glowstone blocks from the builder, but I have no idea how to get collection.

It's the same thing for blaze rods, new ironman players will have to buy brewing stands or powder from the witch npc but there's no way to get the rods before combat 25 as far as I can tell.

But honestly there's not many early-game uses for quartz (apart from perhaps the night saver). The real pain is not being able to brew potions with enchanted glowstone, so early game foraging is going to be super slow without haste III.

(as an early game ironman, I'm kicking myself for not making a ghast minion earlier! but luckily I do have minions for the other nether drops)

Luckily I already have minions for all of the above, but I was thinking about new players - you can't unlock the collections and therefore make minions by buying from the builder and you cannot get into new nether until lvl 24... ( I don't even remember seeing glow and quartz there tbh but didn't really look for it so may have just not seen it) I try to answer a lot of questions form new players so it would be useful info to have.

Re the ghast thing, as luck would have it I had decided to go find fairy souls yesterday - I found myself at the top of old nether looking for one and shooting ghasts that were trying to make that task difficult and ended up with 32 ghast tears, I guess I'll just have to buy the other 32 but at least I unlocked the collection. I hope you manage to get it soon.

blaze can be gotten from bal. (the blazes that spawn there.)

As i said in my original message, I am on ironman profile BUT I already have minions for these things so this isn't about me, it's about players in general, particularly new players wanting to start collections - getting ppl to make it for you doesn't unlock the collection. Thanks for taking the time to reply tho, appreciated

can't build a farm with glowstone till combat 24 lmao amazin
